Welcome to the Range Game, a monthly math contest that requires students to first conduct some research on a given topic and complete a performance task, that of making a claim or arugment that is supported with evidence. Students can then use their research to help them in a numeric high/low class competition using a pre-made spreadsheet in Microsoft Excel.
Every month a new Range Game will be posted. Previous games can be found by clicking on the "Archived Months" link. Additional pages have been provided that show connections to the Common Core State Standards, training opportunities to create your own Range Games and bios of the Range Game creators.
Please click on the "How it Works" page to get started. Then you should be off and running with your class. Feel free to get creative too.
If you want to contact either of us, please find the email address below. Help your students master some standards, learn and have some fun! Thanks for visiting our site, Authors, Jan and Gary Leonard, central Illinois. jan_leonard@yahoo.com
